Default PTLE 6.4cs9 + Core Duo Laptop = definitely upgrade to 7.3.1?

I have PTLE Digi002 rack and 6.4cs9 on Core Duo laptop starting and frozing on "Creating DAE objects...". If I turn the digi002 off, the PTLE shows DAE error and closes. The same story with using other programs using ASIO drivers. PC frozes on switching ASIO driver, if I turn the Digi hardware off it closes.

I have downloaded and installed latest PACE drivers and Windows XP Dual Core Hotfix. I can't disable multi-core support from in BIOS 'cause there is no such option in it at all.

My specs:
- Windows XP Professional SP2
- PTLE 6.4cs9
- Notebook Fujitsu-Siemens AMILO Pi 1505 (Core 2 Duo, 1Gb RAM, build-in Firewire card)

Do I really need to upgrade or there is a chance to get it working?

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I don't think LE 6.x versions were optimized for dual-core machines. I can say from my experience, though, that the enhancements in the 7.x versions make it well worth the meager upgrade price.
Seems to me that switching the 002 unit off would indeed cause the DAE error...I know that if I forget to turn mine on when I boot, it doesn't give me any such errors other than when I launch Pro Tools, it says "Hardware Not Detected". Or if I try to play anything OUTSIDE of Pro Tools like Internet audio or Windows Media files it says "no soundcard detected".
Since Pro Tools doen't like to see any other sound devices present, seems the best way to avoid the DAE error is not to shut off the 002 until you've shut down the computer. (How's the old joke go, "I told my doctor it hurts when I do this, and he says don't do that!")respects to Henny Youngman....
