Hardware EQ insert works, but commit records no audio
Hi folks,
I am running a Motu 828es interface with a Neve 1073N prramp/EQ unit. I recorded a vocal track dry with no EQ and am now trying to use the outboard EQ on the Neve unit to mix. I have set it up properly (I think) going out and in the same channel on my interface to the Neve. I can confirm I'm hearing the EQ process on the audio track where I put the hardware insert. Once I've got it EQed how I want I right click the track and hit commit. The track plays and a new audio track is created right below it, but there's no audio data in it! I'm totally confused about what I could be missing here. Any help is much appreciated! |

Re: Hardware EQ insert works, but commit records no audio
Try right clicking on the tab where the Neve is and select commit up to this insert. Does that work??? It should.

Re: Hardware EQ insert works, but commit records no audio
Ugh I totally thought that was the thing I was missing (I had been right clicking on the whole track) but sadly it made no difference. Still no audio copying to the new track.

Re: Hardware EQ insert works, but commit records no audio
I have no idea. Maybe it only works with Avid Hardware. That's what I'm using. HD Native with an Omni interface and a 192. You may have to just record to a new track. Hardware commits are real time anyway, so it's not so bad.

Re: Hardware EQ insert works, but commit records no audio
Hmm the hardware shouldn't matter since PT can't actually tell what it is - it can only see the interface I'm using. What I don't get is that I can HEAR the EQ when I insert the send. I must have the I/O or something co figured incorrectly. Hoping someone from Avid can chime in and let me knownif this is a known issue.

Re: Hardware EQ insert works, but commit records no audio
Is this where I set the output of the track with the hardware insert as the new track, then the input of the new track the output is the one with the hardware insert? Example: Vocals A [Hardware insert] Output set to Vocals B Vocals B Input set to Vocals A Record arm Vocals B and hit play? |

Do you have LLM switched on?
(just a thought -- don't know how Motu's mixer software works)
