Default Move/copy multiple plug-ins to other insert slot at once

Hi all,

Is there a way to move the inserts on slot A to slot B for multiple tracks at once? Or to copy all the inserts on slot A to slot B?

I know you can move/copy them one by one, by dragging/Alt + dragging, but this can be tedious if a whole row needs to be moved.

Ideas anyone?

Kind regards,

I am not aware of any way to do this. I suggest either a change in workflow, or create session and track templates to cover your needs.

I don't see how duplicating the track moves down the inserts...

Not aware of any way to do this.

I always instantiate the first plugin/send in slot B, for 2 reasons:

1) I use an ICON console, and the lower row of encoders are closer to me
2) I have the option to put a plugin at the top of the chain without moving the other(s)

Valid points, but on an ICON you can do
- Do To All Selected
- Copy the plug-in to another slot
Right?

There should be something like this in Pro Tools.

Alt-click each one and drag to the desired track. How long can that take??

Read the original post, I know that you can drag them one by one. That was not the question.

For 700-track projects, changing plug-in order one by one is not the ideal way to go for people who are not retired yet.

When I need to do this I'll save the session, do a 'save as', and then import data from the previous session onto the new target tracks importing inserts and insert settings only.

It would be nice if one could simply copy and paste but it doesn't exist right now.

best,
rich

Track Presets are likely coming soon. The basics are already there using the .ptxt suffix to convert session files to track presets. This was developed by Avid for Pro Tools Express.

Obviously doesn't help much in this case, but signs of hope for the future!! :)
