Default Mac Pro Quad 3.0ghz 4 core vs. Dual Quad 8 core?

I currently have the Mac Pro Quad 3.0ghz and am thinking of upgrading to the newer Dual Quad 3.0ghz.

Does anyone have an opinion on the performance difference between a Mac Pro quad 3.0ghz 4 core vs. the 8 core model?
Is it worth the upgrade?

Thanks
