Mbox 2 conflicting with Adobe Flash plugin?

Hi guys. I just bought a brand new iMac today with OS X 10.6.4 installed. I was able to install my old Mbox 2 fine using the standalone drivers however now I am finding that any time I visit a website that utilised Flash the browser will freeze and so will the System Preferences control panel. If I reboot and select internal audio for output Flash websites work just fine. I have no trouble listening to music via iTunes or video via Quicktime with the Mbox so it appears my trouble is centered around Flash specifically.

My Flash plugin version is MAC 10,2,154,18

Any help would be most appreciated!

It also appears to make Garageband hang as well! Also, setting the Mbox as the Input audio device in system prefs makes the system freeze as well. Frustrating!

Flash is a problem with OSX full stop. Steve Jobs has had some 'dialogue' with Adobe about it. My understanding is that iPhone's do no support flash even.

Regarding Macs, I use 'Click to flash' so that I choose what flash stuff I want to load:

+1 on click to flash. Everything was fine and dandy in Leopard but when I moved to snow I found PT got periodically very sluggish for no apparent reason. I opened up activity monitor and saw the flash plugin was using a shocking 170% CPU just to play a stupid (and very simple) ad banner on a website window I'd forgotten to close. Just horrible. There's nothing you can do about it, we'll just have to wait for adobe to sort that buggy mess out.
