My reason for really wanting Pro Tools to be lion compatible is based on my iMac (27"/3.06C2D/8GB) performing a whopping 20% better when booting lion from an external fw400 disc, versus Snow Leo on the internal disc. Going from 4100 to 5300 in geekbench, and starting, running, and shutting applications way faster in Lion. Was I able to function before Lion? Of course. I still run SL on my internal drive. Do I long for improved 64bit performance in my most used software (PT)? Yes.

I`m a patient man, I can wait. But replies sarcastically referring to life pre Lion as shaaaiit are just rude. Those of us on dualcore machines are likely to see a lot of improvements with a true 64bit system, for those of you with 4+ cores it probably won`t be all that impressive.

That iMac probably has a 5,400 internal, the Firewire more like 7,200 rpm (and/or 64 mBs cache). Not a real world performance test. Lion may organize it's boot OS better on the HDDs, as we have seen similar performance boot times with Disk Warrior in the past.

Can someone please test their new MBP without an external monitor, as in a live club recording for potential DPC glitches (spikes) if for example the graphics switch from integrated Intel to Radeon, when going to the edit window while recording and changing track heights etc?

@DTS: Will 9.0.4 work with HD Accel anyways? I swap between HD3 and HD Native on the same computer depending on the project.

I'm asking because of this: "...Please Note: Pro Tools 9.0.4 is a specific release for users of Pro Tools HD Native core cards only. It is not required or recommended for users of Pro Tools HD TDM core systems or any non-HD systems."

Thanks,
Toby
