Default Amp Emulator?

Looking for suggestions for a good software (or hardware?) guitar/bass amp emulator that will work nicely with my setup (see signature). Hoping to find something that will have lots of (editable) settings, sounds good and will not empty my bank account.

Thanks.

Mike

Eleven LE and Eleven rack perhaps?

Do you have Eleven Free in your plug-in folder?

You have so many options its not funny, knowing what style of music you record the most and what other equpment you have would help immensely.

Style, Amps, Guitars, Pedals, DI Boxes, Mic's, Pres, amount of simultanous tracks you record at a time, etc all would have an effect.

There's also a ton of great free stuff out there that works well in the Fxpansion VST to RTAS wrapper.

Hmm, part of the forum called "All Things Guitar" seems to have some real cool suggestions...

As far as bang for the buck and variety of amps and effects, I might suggest Amplitube 3, but it's expensive and very CPU hungry (though 3 does better than 2). I say that because it looks like you're on an older system. A great choice might be Line 6 Pod Farm Platinum. For some reason it's hard to come by, even though it's still current and not discontinued. Musiciansfriend.com has it for $150. I have the non-platinum lower version (which is $50) and I like it very much.
