sessions wont create or open in pt first
Hi,
Can someone please help? Every time i try create a new session it opens for a split second and then gives me an error message and shuts the pt down completely "Comments Some inputs or outputs may have become inactive because your audio hardware device has changed." is what it says... i have a scarlet 2i2 3rd gen hooked up to it thanks! |

Re: sessions wont create or open in pt first
That error message simply means that the templates you based your project on were not created with the same hardware. You can ignore that message.
Not sure why PT is closing after that though. That shouldn’t happen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: sessions wont create or open in pt first
Pro Tools First also does not work with Session files. It works with Projects. A sad crippling/lack of compatibility with Pro Tools.

Re: sessions wont create or open in pt first
Exactly. The templates that are provided were not created with the same hardware you have so you get this “warning”. It’s normal and although a little disconcerting it only happens when you create the project initially. It is not an issue and I suspect is not related to your actual problem which is that PTF shuts down on you.

Re: sessions wont create or open in pt first
As Darryl stated, PT First will only load "Projects". Try creating a Project and see if it has any check boxes that load Project templates. It has been a while since i used PTF and don't know if it allows using templates cof any kind at all TBH

Re: sessions wont create or open in pt first
So what Audio device is Pro Tools trying to use?
Did you install the latest drivers for the 2i2? Make sure Windows sound and other apps are *NOT* set to use the 2i2. Start Pro Tools while holding down the 'N' Key and keep it held down until you see a Playback Engine dialog box. In that box's pulldown select the 2i2 as the playback engine. If there are multiple confusing choices tell us exactly what you see. You must be using the *ASIO* driver for the 2i2 with Pro Tools. Make sure you are installing the correct drivers for your version of the 2i2. |
