I got a mod from this forum on how to gain memory with XP 32bit and not to be restricted by XP 3.25 gig.

its that same as how you do it in Vista. But dont waste your time with 32 bit, go ahead and get 64 bit and forget the 3GB/Switch, 64 bit will get you 4GB natively for a 32 bit app.
