Default Grid Lines Gone

How do i get my grid lines back. There gone. Problem happened to a friend of mine and to myself. Not sure how to remedy it.

Are you in "Grid" mode ?
Under preferences check the box "show grid lines"
Once they are on you can toggle them on/off ( this might be your solution) by clicking on the top blue area of the timeline, just between the "show/hide" and the main edit area.

Actually you toggle them on and off by clicking on the timeline name "button" on the left of the timeline when you're in Grid Mode.

Thanks!! I got them back. I appreciate the help. I had to check it in the preferences. I dont know how it got changed. Weird.
