Crash on Mbox Driver install
I recently bought a set of Seagate Barracuda Drives, as well as a SIIG SATA controller. ( all recommended by a digi sales rep).
After installing the drives, Windows would black out on boot up, no error messages. I started unplugging devices, after talking to SIIG tech support for about an hour, and found that everything worked fine without the MBox connected. I tried installing, but everytime it hits the driver, Windows freezes. The computer is a 2.6 Xeon HP xw8000. 2 GB RAM. The SIIG card is installed in slot 4 ( bridged to slot 5, both are 100 MHz 64-bit PCI). There is no onboard SATA controller, so the PCI version is required. Any suggestions? (BIOS setup is pretty much null and void as far as the PCI card and drives go.) |
