PT 11 and Firestudio Project compatibility. PT won't play issue!!

Hi everyone, hope all is good :)

I have an issue with Pro Tools 11 and when I press play on the transport bar, it plays for a second then stops.

I know many people had an issue but I couldn't find a resolution to my issue and apart from a standard installation of pro tools, these are what I have in my set up that maybe different to other set ups:

Presonus Faderport (ported through his and works fine)

Novation Nocturne (as above)

Novation LaunchKey 49 (also through HUI but won't work either - but that's another issue I have haha)

Presonus Firestudio Project interface (works in all other daws and generally but I can't get sound out. Well I don’t think I can, I can't play anything haha)

Any ideas please :)

My Firestudio works fine with PT11.3
I'm also using Universal Control v1.7.2 for PC.

Sounds like something in your I/O settings is not right.
Go to the I/O settings, select the Input tab and press the Default button. Now do the same for both the Output and Bus tabs, then close the window.
Once this is done, make sure your tracks are assigned to the right inputs and outputs.

Presonus has not done a great job with drivers in recent times. I agree that you should try going into the IO setup window and view both Input and Output tabs, and hit the Default button for each.

Next thing I would do is disable everything under the Peripherals menu>Midi tab(where you configure HUI and such). My reason being two-fold. #1-my own experience with Nocturn(which was disastrous), and #2-part of trouble-shooting is to remove as many potential problem sources as you can, in hopes of getting the system to settle down and run smoothly. Then add devices back into the setup, one at a time, and test at each stage, in hopes of maybe finding a single source of the instability

One more thing; when the session plays and then stops, does it always stop at the exact same point? Could it be Dynamic Transport engaged, or maybe some highlighted audio on a track that is no visible at the moment?

Hey all, thanks for your replies.

I've managed to get it all working. PT11 plays and keyboard works (although not as intended but works).

The issue was the sample rate and buffer size.
I changed the buffer to 512 and it works for 48khz sample rate. Which is OK but means I can't change to 44.1khz and most of my saved sample library is at 44.1
