Default 1622 I/O questions

Are the analog inputs 16bit, 20bit, or 24bit?

"The 16 analog inputs provide balanced or unbalanced 20-bit A/D conversion using tip-ring-sleeve (TRS) connectors."

Why not make the specs as good as your semi-pro 001? Better yet, why not add all of the great features of the 001(24bit, Adat i/0, mic pre's, analog output volume control), but make it run on a Mix system?

Good Point and with the 001 you get a card and can run 24 tracks of 24 bit audio all for just $900 and what will the street price of the 1622 be????? I hope with it's less than features it will be less than the 001!!!!!

Hi! Is this 1622 available for purchase now? I'm kinda confused about when all these new Digidesign products are actually going to be available. Thanks!

The 1622 20bit converters have a dynamic range of 99 dB. The Digi001 24bit converters have a dynamic range of 98dB (not as good).
I do agree that Digi should let TDM users include the 001 into their systems if they want. But the fact remains that the 1622 probably sounds better.
