Maybe, check the spec. sheet for audio input. I assume that this is to be handled now through the USB or firewire ports.

And all of the USB devices on the market are broken under PT, correct?

I just read on a maccentral.com site that the new g4's have no anolog input. I'm not sure if that is true with the new powerbooks but if it is, pro tools free won't work with usb input.
