New Power Mac G4 with 133mhz bus
Has anyone tryed using the Digi 001 with the new Poewr Mac architecture? I realise that Digi has not approved these yet. Do you think it's worth getting one of these in anticipation that they will be approved soon enough or that they would work just as well. This machine looks great to me especially the DVD burning capability, but I want to be able to use the Digi 001 with it, and burn a CD with the stock CD/RW. Why would increased performance present compatability issues? Thanks, in advance.

Re: New Power Mac G4 with 133mhz bus
The 733 mhz G4 with the DVD capability isn't available until February so I doubt anyone has tried it yet.

Re: New Power Mac G4 with 133mhz bus
I know a bridge chip was removed from the new PCI bus to improve performance. Since Digi boards don't like large burst rates, there could be an issue. It should be fine, but it's best not to be the first person to try it.

Re: New Power Mac G4 with 133mhz bus
But the 466 and 533's are shipping now. Someone on the TDM topics said that so far it only recognizes the core card, no farms.
Anyone tried it with the 001? Mike |
