Anyone know how to sell my PT 9 license,...the recorded message at Avid is a maze of crap.

I want to get rid of this steaming pile of software,..

Just transfer the iLok license. iLok may charge a transfer fee to load the license into another iLok.

Or sell the iLok and let the new user pay the transfer fee if he wants it in his iLok.

Actually, unlike PT8 and before, PT9 licenses now have the accompanying message next to their licenses on iLok.com:

"Transfer to another account is not allowed for this product."

So your only option is to get a new iLok, put the PT9 license on there by itself, remove the new iLok from your account within the 7 day grace period, and then sell the iLok.

And even that may not be possible. I've heard that once you put the PT9 license on the new iLok you then can't take advantage of the 7 day grace period to remove it from your account. Avid has them locked up pretty tight now it would seem.

Buy a brand new ilok, transfer the license and de-register the ilok within 7 days. When the next guy gets it, after seven days who ever synch to ilok will have that ilok tied to their account permanently.

Many people use this to get around the waves and sonnox regs but you also have to think how the buyer will download the software, updates etc in the future.
