Default Anyone Using the Liquid Channel?

I know a few guys who has them that love them (some not so much) but was wondering for those who have one could you tell me what settings you like on them for smooth jazz vocals and rock like pre, compressors, etc.

Also what about as channel strips for your mix? Does anyone use them going out of your DA, through the LC, then back into you AD for final mixes?

Thanks

Liquid Channel, Liquid 4PRE, Saffire 56

are Liquid Mic-pres, some with liquid compression, and standard digital EQ.
Designed to add flavor to recordings...

The Liquid Mix 16, LiquidMix, LiquidMix32, LiquidMix HD,
Were designed for Mixing & mastering...

Liquid EQ, Liquid Compression, many channels available in DSP.

I purchased LiquidMixHD for the Manley Vary-Mu, similar sound for a fraction of the $$$.

LiquidMixHD works upto HD10.3.10

LiquidMix16+Expansion card vs. LiquidMixHD?

Without Exp.Card installed:

With Exp.Card installed:

When the Liquid Channel first came out, I bought one along with a preamp it was supposed to emulate from a well-known online retailer under the stipulation "if the LC doesn't sound as good as what its supposed to emulate, I'm returning it." I returned it. YMMV.

Which preamp did you use for the comparison?

The Focusrite LS56 has Liquid mic pre emulations on channels 1 and 2. I set mine to the Neve 1073; sounds great!!!

The Liquid Saffire 56 offers you the following 'flavours' of preamp:
Emulation Name Emulated Preamp
Trany H API3124+
Silver 2 Avalon VT‑737SP
FF Red 1 H Focusrite RED1
Saville Row Helios console
Dunk Manley Slam!
New Age 1 Millennia HV3D
Class A 2A Neve 1073
Old Tube Pultec MB1
Deutsch 72 Telefunken V72
Stellar 1B Universal Audio M610
Flat No emulation running

Been using everything at 96Khz now.
Wow.
Well what can I say.
Don't know why it took so long.

Make sure your run it at 192 so the latency is reasonable. Does a pretty good job at some of the preamps. When I had one I put it directly against UA, Neve, API, Avalon, and Focusrite.

The extra harmonic control was pretty nice to add just a pinch more mojo.

The metering was pretty good and the session saver feature was occasionally useful.

The sound was pretty good. I did quite a few records with it—even lead vocals. I used it semi-interchangeably with the actual hardware. The LA-2A is pretty nice. I felt like I could punch in to a real hardware take with it and it would be where only i knew where the punch was sometimes. The differences are there, but it certainly sounds similar to the targeted hardware.

I have some AB stuff somewhere. Don't know if I'll get around to digging it up, though, but I was actually splitting the signal so all were the same take and it was completely fair.

I think it's as close as UA's Unison, probably.
