why do my sessions close when I save by pressing apple S?

I'm running the mbox2 with my powerbook g4 and whenever I press apple S to save the session it closes the session out... Why is this? Also, it wasn't doing this til a second ago but when I press record and then spacebar to stop the recording it shuts down? I can't do anything right now... Anyone have a clue?
