Default upgrading from PT9 to current on Windows 10

2 months ago I bought a new HP Workstation... thinking my troubles were over....

boy was I mistaken!

one thing after another...

I am trying to upgrade from PT9 to PTsomething I can use on W10.

long story short, this is where I am.

2nd gen iLoc is holding my PT9 license.

I log into AVID and proceed to buy the upgrade from 9 to current from AVID...

...and I get THIS!

"Your chosen iLok account does not have enough qualifying product licenses for upgrade. Please review the following errors and fix them or change your iLok User ID to a different one that contains valid qualifiers for the upgrade.
Missing 1 qualifying license(s) for upgrade to Pro Tools (9513-30249-00)"

the iLoc manager on my computer shows PT9 on the iLoc......the ONLY license on it.

I have current versions of everything in my computer.

can someone please tell me what that means.....and what hoop do I need to jump through now

no disrespect to avid support......but, they sent me that link..[shakes head]
now they are getting me to the point of tossing it all.

Have you actually provided the correct iLok account? How many iLok accounts do you have? Did you provide the exact correct account info? And is the iLok you are looking at synced with that iLok account? How did you get that iLok and license on it? Was it a new purchase of did you in the past buy a used iLok with license already on it?

I only have one iLoc account.

and my Iloc with PT9 license is the only license on the 2nd gen. iLoc...so it will still work for this upgrade.

the gen2 iLoc came with PT9 when I bought it from guitar center.

A not uncommon problem is people providing the wrong iLok account information to Avid (the iLok account not your Avid account). Avid cannot just see what is on your iLok, everything goes though your iLok account. Double check you gave the correct iLok account and that ILM on your computer is actually logged into that same account. You can try transferring the PT9 license from the iLok back to your account to see if that works.

And this assumes the PT9 license was not something different like an education license.

If you tried all that. Open a product upgrade support ticket (https://www.avid.com/pro-tools/learn-and-support) with Avid and provide them with info like where you got the PT9 license from, that you checked you have the correct iLok account, etc. If you end up still stuck then post the support case # here.

but what 'wrong-info' could it be?

I use the same ID for both.....have for a while.
I used PT 6, 7 and 9 with no problems....now this.....

I get this message when I try to activate the upgrade I just bought from Sweetwater...….the same PT9 upgrade that AVID linked me to...

I can't get past the AVID activation page.

"This iLok account does not appear to have an eligible license for this upgrade.
Please ensure that your iLok account below is correct. For information on eligible products see the product description details on shop.avid.com or your Avid reseller."

I have many licenses on my two other iLoc keys...I have never had a problem before this.

this is my ongoing AVID support #

"..problem of pro tools 9 not opening up in Windows 10 [Case : 03847594]"

thank you and any help will keep me from going insane.....

You have 2 iLok User IDs. The one that's your email address is linked in your my.avid.com account, and it only has a Pro Tools First license. Please click Change default iLok User ID to enter your other iLok User ID (the one that's not an email address, and has your Pro Tools 9 license) then try redeeming your upgrade code again.

Or you can just wait for Jeffro.

(as I was saying about multiple iLok accounts).

Did you do exactly what Jeffro said?

Are you logged into the correct iLok account?

What if you log into the other iLok account? What happens?

Did you remember registering/activating Pro Tools 10 or did it come with an already activated iLok?

Back to Jeffro.. for real help.

I only have one iLoc account.

I deactivated Protools First also, I only wanted to see if it worked on this computer....... it is nothing I actually wanted.

I highlight my PT9 iLoc in the manager and I cant drag it over, it says license does not belong to me...
