EuCon reliability since adding Dock

EuControl seems very flakey since I added a Dock (connected to the spare Ethernet port on the S3; iPad is also connected via fixed Ethernet but directly to my switch). There's often a "network error" saying it can't connect to the S3 (and interestingly "Don't show this dialog again" checkbox never seems to stick). It's just incredibly unreliable.

I can ping the S3, Dock and iPad without issue. I'm on OS X 10.12.1 and Pro Tools 12.6.1.

EDIT – what does the Network Interface setting in EUCON Preferences actually do, given that in many situations with the Dock (albeit not in mine) both the fixed and wireless Ethernet interfaces will be used? I had mine set to Wi-Fi and setting it back to Ethernet 1 seems to have resolved things for now.
