Midi notes wont fire simultaneously
I have an issue with midi in pro tools 10. I am using steven slate as an insert to an instrument track in pro tools, where i write midi drums. The problem is when two or more midi notes are played at the same time (like a kick and cymbal) on the grid only one will sound. If i slightly nudge one note so they are not perfectly in line then both sound (refer screenshot attached).
Steven slate only picks up one note being triggered so it is definitely a pro tools issue not the drum program. I am sure this is an easy fix but for some reason everything I try has not helped! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Midi notes wont fire simultaneously
I would guess a setting like either
Polyphony mode or omni setting inside SSD’s Caveat I’ve never used SSD’s But I would go through the settings once again

I wonder what operating system the op is trying to run PT10 in? It could be an incompatibility issue between PT and the computer operating system. |

I would start by thrashing prefs, etc

Re: Midi notes wont fire simultaneously
Have tried a whole bunch of things to no avail. I am using an all in one pc, it could very well be that's the problem as it worked fine on my old computer but I have recently upgraded to the all in one. Everything else in pro tools works fine on the new computer, tracking, editing, it's just the midi that's not working.

Re: Midi notes wont fire simultaneously
I am using windows 10, the old computer would have been windows 7 or earlier even. I have the full licensed pt10. It seems to work fine for everything else, have had no dramas recording, playing back, importing tracks, bouncing tracks etc.
Some interesting things to note, if i turn down the velocity of one of the midi notes it automatically will then play the other note and vice versa, whichever note is louder gets played the other doesnt. Also Iv'e noticed on say a group of kicks or a faster roll, none of the notes will sound in a bunch of 8 notes, this could be that it is too much info so the midi just skips the notes all together? that wouldn't explain the double note issue though. |

I remember 10.3 was a real big jump in performance. I wouldn't go back before that. I stayed at 10.6 for at least 2 years....I am not sure what the benefits of x7-x10 were...10.6 met my needs.
