Default Gonna need more Instrument and MIDI tracks

One of the reasons I popped for a new Mac Pro is the fact that the machine has sufficient power to host a very large score session. There's less need to keep a farm of machines running VEPro. I'm now putting together an orchestral template and I realize that I'm probably going to run out of MIDI tracks. In this particular setup I may not run out of Instrument tracks, but I'll get pretty close. I should mention that I'm running PT Ultimate (Native).

As more people upgrade machines, this issue will become more evident. I hope Avid are able to at least double the current MIDI/Instrument track counts. Perhaps it's a simple compile-time constant. At any rate, I hope it's easy to do.

Sounds like a reasonable request. Have you opened support case already?

Yes. Thanks for the reminder. Hope this one's relatively easy to address. Stay well!

If you ask me, limiting MIDI tracks is pointless, because currently MIDI 1.0 limits how much you can use them. Might be another story when MIDI 2.0 gets implemented; but then again, MIDI should get a complete overhaul anyway. For now unlimited MIDI tracks sounds like a no-brainer.

I don't see an upside for Avid for any MIDI limitation. That being said, I haven't (so far) fallen short of MIDI or Instrument tracks.
