Special Characters in PT11 not supported?
Is there any reason, that the german characters like ÄÖÜß are not supported for Track names or filenames?
Actually i have to deliver some 1000 files containing these characters and do not want to rename them manually in the finder! |

Re: Special Characters in PT11 not supported?
Known issue.
See here: http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/...ps/112637-3779 When spotting files with soundminer containing umlauts to PT11 the clips will be labeled with weird math symbols (square roots and others). Frank.

I experience the same when it comes to naming session files and exports. I'm on a Danish os running osx 10.8

Re: Special Characters in PT11 not supported?
Hello. In a similar vein, I recently came across the fact that if you have a file with a slash character on it, Pro Tools 11 will not read it and the file will be unaccessible from the Workspace. Once you take out the slash the file is accessible again.
I created a thread about it. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=349693

Re: Special Characters in PT11 not supported?
and its gone again in PT 11.1.3 - when opening a session using Clip names with Umlauts ÄÖÜ, i get a warning saying "files are missing" - when selecting "find an relink" theses files magically appear as found??? Why is that?

Re: Special Characters in PT11 not supported?
Did you Rename the Session or the Clips? Do you mean once i Rename a Clip in 11.1.3 with Umlauts, it will reopen Fine? Bad for older Sessions then ;(

Re: Special Characters in PT11 not supported?
indeed - saving & reopening the relinked session in 11.1.3 DOES work! The Problem only occurs opening an older session conatining clip names with umlauts...
