Re: SAN doesn\'t work with 6.9? Big trouble!
someone in another post said they had this same problem. Their audio drive was no longer a valid audio drive and protools would not let them change it to a Record drive. They said after running "repair disk permissions" it fixed the problem. Try that and see if it works.

Re: SAN doesn\'t work with 6.9? Big trouble!
The first thing I tried was to change it from a T to an R but it doesn't want to know about it.
I spoke with SNS and they got 6.9 the same time I did so they haven't tested and told me to hang in there. this is a bad week so far, partly my fault, partly just the way things go. thanks for the help

Re: SAN doesn\'t work with 6.9? Big trouble!
For everyone who had a storage area network (SAN) that was previously working in Pro Tools 6.7, and that no longer worked with Pro Tools 6.9, Digidesign has made changes in 6.9.1 and 6.9.2 that restore the ability to use these affected SANs as playback and record volumes. See below for information on the change as well as which release to use if you were affected by this issue.
Note that this change doesn't allow all SANs to work with Pro Tools. If a SAN didn't work with 6.7, it won't work with 6.9.1 or 6.9.2. Typically a SAN will not work if it uses something other than HFS+, FAT32, or NTFS for its filesystem. All that said, keep in mind that the use of a SAN is not officially supported. Hope this helps all of you affected by this issue to get access to 6.9's new features. Greg Funk Digidesign -------------------------------------------- With the introduction of Pro Tools 6.6 and 6.9 on OS X, users of some third party storage area networks (SAN) were no longer able to record or playback to SAN volumes from within Pro Tools. Specifically, with some SANs, it was not possible to designate a SAN volume as playback/record from within the Workspace Browser. This problem affected only OS X versions of Pro Tools 6.6 and 6.9. (Pro Tools 6.7 on OS X was unaffected and all Pro Tools versions on Windows XP were unaffected.) Though third party SANs are not officially supported, this problem has now been resolved, and the following releases will restore playback/record functionality with affected SANs:
