If you're a quickey guy like me, its basically the same thing.

Nope - in PFL mode muted tracks can be solo'd. In AFL or SIP audio will reflect mute status (since of course they are post fade modes) - exactly as one would expect. To have any post-fade solo mode override mute status would be very weird indeed.


edit: as to the OP's original point about being able to solo on select; I can imagine this would be a slightly dangerous, but handy option. As long as it needed to be explicitly enabled, and had a big status indicator it could be a nice thing.

I understand, at least with HD, if I'm not mistaken. But is the result the same? The idea is to be able to do solo PLAY on a clip - of course by being able to edit immediately with the usual tools.
