Re: Swing The Grid Lines?
It does. I posted the explanation several times already.

Re: Swing The Grid Lines?
That is a known workaround.

Re: Swing The Grid Lines?
Fair enough. I just haven't found a thread where it was explained, so I wanted to share what I learned. I agree that we should get Avid to give us the real thing.

Re: Swing The Grid Lines?
If you want a swing feel to line up to a grid, use a triplet feel. A swing is based on 3, it just omits one of the triplets...one is short and one is long or visa versa.
Check out this screen shot of my PT9 session. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/...4at81455PM.png “Inst 1” is the straight feel w/ a 16th note grid. I quantized the swing 100% and then bussed it to “Audio 5” to print the audio. Then I set my edit window grid to 1/8 (3) or triplets. To double check, I tabbed to transient and quantized to the grid and it sounded the same. You can see how “Inst 1” and “Audio 5” only line up on 1/4 notes. The 1/8 notes in “Audio 5” are swung. |
