faderport windows 7 64 pro tools 8
i've used my faderport on my old system and it worked flawless.
i installed the newest drivers/firmware for my new computer and mbox2. for some reason, when i go to "peripherals" and click on "HUI" it is missing "USB Audio Device." it only gives me mbox2 and faderport as options. when i try to use the faderport, it doesn't work and there's something about not communicated with HUI or something. can someone plaeas help? |

Re: faderport windows 7 64 pro tools 8
I'm trying to figure out this same issue.
Here's where the Faderport works fine: -Windows XP 32bit -ProTools 8.0.3 -Under peripherals, it shows up as "USB Device" Here's where the Faderport does not work 100%: -Windows 7 64bit -ProTools 8.0.3 -Under peripherals, it shows up as "FaderPort" I have reflashed the Faderport firmware multiple times. I believe the issue lies within the operating system. Mind you, I have been running PT8 on Win7 64bit FLAWLESSLY for the past 5-6month now. Windows 7 seems to have alot of the friendly-built-in-plug-it-in-and-recognize-it functionality. In this case, it's bad because it's not really helping, unfortunately. I'll be reporting my findings back to Presonus and I'll post back, hopefully helping others out. When using the Faderport in XP with PT8+, it rules. It's functionality is awesome and pairs up with PT8 perfectly. I just need to get it working in Win7 now. |

Re: faderport windows 7 64 pro tools 8
Anything new on this issue? I'm pretty sure it's a Windows 7 / Presonus issue rather than Pro Tools.
It would sure be nice to have full functionality of the Faderport...

Re: faderport windows 7 64 pro tools 8
I don't have a Faderport (yet), but I just read this:
"Please note that later versions of Pro Tools do not include the HUI control surface plug-in by default. It may either be found on the Pro Tools installer CD in a separate folder or on the Digidesign web site." Maybe you did install this Plugin on your older System but not on Win7? |

Re: faderport windows 7 64 pro tools 8
I've seen TONS of reports of control surfaces not working with this BETA release. Must be another bug that has yet to be addressed. Don't hold your breath.

Re: faderport windows 7 64 pro tools 8
Hey,
I'm working with windows7 64bits protools 8.03 and my faderport works again since this morning... I 've just turned off the UAC to install midi yoke and I think that's the reason why faderport works perfectlty now. Please let me now. By. Fred |

Re: faderport windows 7 64 pro tools 8
This has been discussed a lot, turn off UAC on any W7 computer running audio apps. There are quite a few that do not run as well with thi enabled.

Re: faderport windows 7 64 pro tools 8
I'm using Windows 7 64 and Pro Tools 8.0.4. I had the same problem with my Faderport not being recognized by Pro Tools. Here's my fix:
I turned off User Account Control (UAC) and that solved the problem. But I didn't want to leave UAC off permanently, so I right clicked on the Pro Tools launcher in the start menu, went to properties, and elevated the program's rights in the security tab. Now I have UAC back on and my Faderport is working flawlessly. I didn't think there was a fix for this, especially since Presonus doesn't list Windows 7 as a supported operating system. But all you need to do is elevate the rights of Pro Tools. |
