Default Pat 10HD with MacPro and PCIE TDM cards

Is anyone out there successfully running Protools 10HD on a MacPro with PCIE TDM hardware?

I just recently upgraded to a MacPro 2x2.93 ghz 6 core (12 core) with 32g RAM running 10.8 OS and Protools 10HD, and can't get PT to see the cards in the hardware setup window. I may have to do a clean install of Mountain Lion OS. I just want to make sure that this can be done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx - Starfields

Do you have an actual Pro Tools 10 **HD** asset on an iLok connected to the Mac? Don't assume, confirm the license asset is actually a HD one.

Remove any other iLoks and USB peripherals.

Does Pro Tools 10 HD then start up OK if Built-in Output is selected as the playback engine?

You did a full clean install of Pro Tools 10 on a full clean install of OS X? (no upgrades)

You are following the exact steps in the Pro Tools 10 Installation Guide?

What options shows up as the playback engine? (not in hardware)

What cards exactly are installed?

What does Digitest show when you run it?

What exact model/date code is the Mac Pro?

If you do a clean OS X and Pro Tools install, I would start over with a blank HDD or even better SSD and install on that and not mess with your current boot parition.

I have a PT 10 HD license. Protools opens fine with the default internal i/o selected. In playback engine, TDM hardware does not show up.

Check out my signature, you'll see that I'm running HD 10, with three TDM cards in my recently upgraded 5.1 12 core mac pro.

I have been running an expansion chassis with 6 accel cards, PT 10.3.10 for a while now. Occasionally the output would default to Aggregate IO. It drove me nuts for awhile. I found that I had to use a specific startup sequence....the Expansion chassis, external HD's, Big Ben, the 192's and then the computer, waiting to let each device fully star up.

I just got a 12 core...like YESTERDAY... with 48G Ram and it really runs well now.

I would suggest making double sure the wiring is correct, run digitest, and restart.

The ProTools pref utility is always handy for trashing stuff.

Hope this helps.

Try taking out all of the cards except for the Core, see if TDM shows up. Obviously run Digitest on all cards too.
