Default Upgrading to Digi001 question . . .

Simple question for you:

I'm currently using Pro Tools Free (and loving it!) and am on the verge of upgrading to the digi 001.

My question is: will Pro Tools LE / digi 001 allow me to open and work on tracks that I've recorded on PT Free (with the filetype .pt5)?

I think so-
(This probably is addressed in the PTF manual if you have access to that)
I know you can open TDM files in LE, with the limitation being TDM's higher than 32 track count and TDM-only features just being unavailable in the LE session (grayed out).

Haven't heard of anybody having a problem w/it; so a qualified, "Probably" is the best I can do...

You can open a Pro Tools Free session, which is a Pro Tools 5 session, in Pro Tools LE or TDM. Pro Tools LE 5.1 and higher all use the 5.1 session format. So if you want to save the session for use in Pro Tools Free again, choose "Save Session Copy in..." and choose Pro Tools 5 Session instead of Pro Tools 5.1 Session. (and if preparing in LE for PT Free, keep in mind the 8 track limit)
