McDSP Classic Pack Vs. Waves Ren Maxx
Hey Guys,
Just looking for advice. McDSP Classic Pack Vs. Waves Ren Maxx I only can afford to buy 1 of these 2 fantastic bundles. I've used the McDSP project Studio before and even though those are LE versions of plug ins they still sounded great. I've heard great things about the Ren Maxx bundle however as well. Just wondering on what you guys think would be the best bang for my buck. Thanks again. -Awesome

Go for McDSP. Not only do they sound great, but the company won't screw you over.

Re: McDSP Classic Pack Vs. Waves Ren Maxx
What about the Ren bass compressor or the vox compressors?
Are they not as good as the compressors that come with te McDSP stuff? also, there is a auto tune like plug in that comes with the Waves stuff. What would you recommend to fill that hole?

Re: McDSP Classic Pack Vs. Waves Ren Maxx
another vote for MCDSP.
Waves are good, but be prepared to pay for them for the entire time you own them. They're sticking to the WUP. The R-compressor is good, but none of the other plugs are very good. R-verb is boring, R-EQ is bad, R-bass is useless. The others are ok, but R-vox is the same as the R-compressor only without the attack and release sliders. R-ax is pretty much the same thing as R-vox. IR-L is ok, but you have no ability to EQ the verb, so you end up having to put an EQ plug after the verb on the aux = more processing on your computer. With that bundle, you get tune lite - not the full version. So I wouldn’t' count on it to do much. I actually hate it. I'd much rather use Antares. I like the waves stuff, but it is so much of a hassle to deal with them. And it is so expensive to pay for a yearly service plan just in case they update their plugs. I've owned a waves bundle for 1.5 years and had to pay each year - even though they haven't updated for 2.5 years. MCDSP is great. I've owned their plugs for 5 years and never had to pay for an update, they are an excellent company and have awesome products. filterbank comes with all kinds of eq (shelf, filter, etc...), compressorbank is great and modeled after some of the best compressors out there, I could go on and on. long story short - don't count on waves to offer much pitch correction, go MCDSP.

HI
McDSP of course, jre3132 said it all. Waves´ WUP is kick in the face of the user. Besides that they want their authorisation on a sepereate iLok from the one you already have or they can guarantee for nothing. regs

Re: McDSP Classic Pack Vs. Waves Ren Maxx
Make it another McDsp vote here. I've used both and the McDsp stuff is way better. The Revolver verb plug takes up some serious computer horsepower, but sounds great. I use the comps and eq's on almost everything and am impressed every time.
