Default used mac pro or new mac mini?

Guys, I'm looking at hd native and I wonder what would be best, a used mac pro, say 2010/11 or a new i7 mac mini? They both cost about the same though I see the thunderbolt native box is a bit more than the pci version.

Unless you need to add pcie peripherals (uad cards, black-magic card...), I'd say go with the mini. Don't forget to take Apple Care.

You might also consider that a new Mac Pro will most probably be finally out this year.

Your configuring a native rig. You need horse power. Mac Pro will deliver more processing power. Also, expanding hard drives is cheaper and easier. If you need a video I/o like black magic, you can do it with a Mac Pro. Lastly, are minis even supported? I thought avid only supports MBP right now.

Lots of people using Mac mini's with HD Native; also iMacs. Remember that supports and qualified are two different things.
