Anyone at digi have a chance to look at the crash logs yet? Mine has been up for a while now.

i have the same problem in my PowerMac Dual G5, OSX 10.5.6, 4GB RAM, with Pro Tools HD 8, even with the cs1 update(it got worse, actually). my only firewire peripherals are a TC Electronics Powercore(FW400) and some Lacie Hard Drives(FW800). i believe it has to do with some of the plugins ...

i just want to know, as this problems affects some professional work here and some important one, if Digidesign recomends a downgrade to version 7.x HD until a proper and stable 8.x HD is released or if Digidesign thinks some kind of fix will be released in a short time interval like a week or so.

thank you very much

We're looking at the crash logs and have an idea of what the problem is, but do not have specific info on why it would be causing a crash in Pro Tools or if it's an OS issue or PT issue. For that we need a reproducible case, which we have not been able to get here yet, even though we have several systems set up with automated tests running continuously.

We're going to try a few more things in the hopes we can get a repro scenario and will report back as soon as we have any further info.

Does this problem occur if you don't have the Powercore attached? The reason I ask is that this issue is firewire related and the Powercore certainly could be a factor.

Can you post a crash log? Do you have ANY firewire peripherals attached?

Let me know what else you need.

Does this occur if you have the firewire drives and all fw peripherals disconnected?

I'm pretty sure it has happened when I've had no firewire drives mounted. I'll unmount them and try to get it to happen.

Thanks for the update.

Chris
