Google Chrome as browser for PT 8 LE?
Hi. I have a PC desktop (Win 7 64-bit OS), and am about to install Pro Tools 8 LE. I know there are issues conflicting with Internet Explorer, and Firefox has recently had serious security issues. Any known conflicts with the latest Chrome? Any "dos & don'ts" I need to know before installing? Thanks!

Re: Google Chrome as browser for PT 8 LE?
No issues with Chrome, no issues with Firefox either. Also understand, the problems with Internet Explorer involved IE 8 with versions prior to Pro Tools 8... and it wasn't just PT. Waves plugins for instance also didn't get along with IE 8.

Re: Google Chrome as browser for PT 8 LE?
Since you are going with LE8, there is an important installation method. (if you already started this and failed, run the UNinstaller to start fresh). Before you start, DO NOT connect the interface yet!!! If its an Mbox, leave the USB or FW cable unplugged. If its 002/003, connect the FW cable with EVERYTHING powered OFF and leave the 002/003 turned OFF(never hot-patch the FW with 002/003 or you can fry the ports). Go download the 8.0.5 update now(you need it) and drop it somewhere handy(like extract it to the desktop). Run the LE installer as administrator(very important on Win7), and when it tells you to connect the interface, DO NOTHING. Just click on Okay, let it finish and reboot. Then, run the updater and when the updater asks for the interface to be connected, plug in the Mbox(or power ON the 002/003), wait a few seconds, then click Okay. Let the updater finish and reboot again. Then, with your authorization code handy(the one that starts with "DIGI08....."), open LE and cross your fingers

Re: Google Chrome as browser for PT 8 LE?
In particular, Internet Explorer 8 elements did not interact with some audio plug ins correctly... literally just having IE 8 installed, whether you were actively using it or not. Not just Avid plugs/software, but others as well. Those issues were addressed and solved in subsequent versions, but it's still relevant for users attempting to install legacy software.
