Youtube is your friend for this kind of thing Check out Structure Free(on youtube) and see if that might allow you to use your samples in a way that makes sense for your workflow

Find some drum samples you like and learn how to use midi inside and out. In depth knowledge of writing and editing midi was a game changer for me especially in regards to drums. Find a sensitive controller. That will help you create realistic drum patterns / beats. Try to play the controller as a drummer would play drums - with different velocities. I have found that attempting to play the drums with expression is the key to getting a great drum feel. Dont crank all the velocities up to 100% on every beat every drum. Also - really get to know how the Quantize function works. That is crucial as well. As far as drum sounds. I really like the Native Instruments Abbey Road and Studio Drummer kits. Very real to me.
