Default Hearing pops in headphones

Hey guys, first time posting on the boards.

I hear pops and static type noise through my headphones when I have the mix knob turned anywhere other than all the way to the left. I've tried changing the hardware buffer size to no avail. I was wondering if anybody had a quick fix for me? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

More info please. Do you have anything plugged into the SPDIF input? Have you trashed prefs?(try it)

Nothing is plugged into S/PDIF. Also tried trashing preferences but to no avail. I hear the noises even when Pro Tools is not open. I found a similar thread and the general consensus was that maybe the Mbox was faulty. Like I said, I only hear the noises when the Mix dial is anywhere other than all the way to the left.

I am recording through DI inputs, and when a track is record enabled the noises become a lot worse, I'm not sure if they're actually recorded but they appear on the level meters. The problem is also beginning to create CPU overloads; this shouldn't happen on a brand new iMac and with only one plug in running (Guitar Rig 4).

I have already been through one Mbox so I would really like to hear some good news here!

Thanks guys.

OK,

Read through this: http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=193636 and then post back with some info.. Then folks can offer assistance. Anything else is a guess.

My guess is that you are using 8.0.3?

Ok so the problem was solved by replacing the included USB cable. Good as new.
