Default LE 7.3 (XP) -> LE 7.4 Vista?
I've tried to find an answer for this with no luck, I apologize if it has already been posted.

I have a copy of PT LE 7.3 that came with my Mbox (2 mini) which of course works with XP only. I recently upgraded to Vista and would like to upgrade to 7.4 so I can install ProTools again, however the installation disk that came with the MBox will only work with XP.

Is it possible to upgrade to 7.4 after switching to Vista? Under the 7.4 upgrade it says that it is compatible with Vista, but how can you upgrade when 7.3 didn't work on Vista?

I believe the 7.4 install is a full install. That is, you don't need to have a previous version of PT to install it. You should be able to download the 7.4 Vista version and install it.

I get it now, I didn't notice that the full install option was only $75 and thought it was the standalone version.

7.4 should run VISTA. Unless you have bought new hardware in the last 30days you will need to purchase the 7.3 to 7.4 upgrade in the Digistore for Vista compatibilty. The 7.3>7.4 upgrade is 50.00.

So let me get this right..
You have to buy an upgrade to be able to use your 002 on Vista.. Even if you had just bought the 002 brand new? Because obviously the software shipped with the 002 won't work on your new vista computer.
Edit: Oh, and you need to pay 75, instead of 50 for the upgrade, because you need the full install???

No, if you have 7.3, and didn't buy it in the last 30 days, the upgrade to 7.4 is 50 bux.
If you DID buy it in the last 30 days, the upgrade to 7.4 is free.

If you DON'T have 7.3, then 7.4 is 75 bux.

Yes, but will the "upgrade"-version work as a full install on Vista? Because as far as I know 7.3 will not install on Vista at all, so an upgrade that requires 7.3 to be installed already is useless if you are migrating to Visa.

7.4 is a full install.
The pricing is the only issue.
75.00, 49.00, or free.

75.00 if you don't have 7.3
49.00 if you do
Free if you bought 7.3 within the grace period
