Default DAE Could Not Be Found

When I try to start PT LE on my windows XP Home.. I get "DAE Could Not Be Found" then a box that says ...Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library......
c:\program files\digidesign\ProToolsLE.exe ...the application has requested the run time to terminate in an unusual way. please contact applicants support team.

I also went to my add/remove to try and uninstall and then reinstall PT..but for some reason that (the add/remove) wouldn't open. All the other things open but that one. (display, user accounts.. etc)

Any help on this?
Thanks,
Jason

reinstall windows WX and try again. Sounds like windows itself is corrupt. Virus?

You might try using something like RegCleaner to remove all Digidesign and Pace components, then try to reinstall.

What version of Pro Tools are you running? What are your system specs?

You can download RegCleaner here:

RegCleaner

After installing, launch RegCleaner and click on the Software tab. Select all Digidesign/Pace components and click 'Remove Selected'.Do the same for the 'Uninstall Menu' tab, then quit and restart.
