Default Converting session using 3d sample rate converters. Possible?

Hello,

Does anyone has experience with downgrading Pro Tools sessions sample rate using 3d software converters (Izotope SRC for example)?

I'm looking for an easiest solution.

Thanks.

I think the best you could do would be to convert all the audio from the session (the contents of your Audio Files folder) into *another* folder using a batch converter utility such as Audiofile Engineering's Sample Manager (which uses the Izotope SRC) or Saracon, then in ProTools do a "Save Session Copy In..." and change the sample rate to the desired rate; ProTools will insist on converting all the audio. Then throw out the newly ProTools-created audio, and when you open the new session, relink using only file names (not unique file ids) to the audio you created in step one. You'll have to be sure your audio files all have unique names and are in a single folder before starting this process. Fairly awkward, but I imagine you could get reasonably fast at it if need be.

Hope that helps,
rich
