Default Question: Converting an audio drum file to a MIDI file?

I have an intro drum fill from an old song I wrote, I'm trying convert that stereo wav file (of the drum fill) to a midi file I can use with a midi drum program like Addictive drums. It's only a few seconds long, but I thought it would be a great way to get my feet wet in trying to do this sort of thing. lol
I'm using PT8 (LE in this case with an 003).
Could a kind hearted person walk me through the process of doing this?

Many many thanks!!!!
-Chris

you need a third party plugin to do this. TL Drum Rehab, Melodyne, DrumTracker(toontrack) I think all will work.

I do have the Massey DTM but haven't been having very good luck so far. Especially since the drums aren't on their own seperate drums tracks (kick, snare, toms etc). I thought beat detective or elastic audio did this kind of thing too?

I really appreciate the input!

Do all of the audio to midi programs require seperated audio drum tracks to work? I guess logically that's the only way for them to huh?

Thanks!
