Default How do I use EZ Drummer in PT 12?

I have EZ Drummer which I've used with Reaper for a few years and love the product.

I have just got PT 12 and want to use EZ drummer in it. I have created a track and looked for EZD but can't find it. DO I have to upgrade to EZ Drummer 2 or can I use the first version in PT12?

There should be a free upgrade to make your product PT compatible. Look in their website if they have AAX support.

There may be an upgrade but it won't be free going from version 1 to version 2 of EZ Drummer. But like you say there might be a free update for EZD 1 with aax64 support.

Insert EZDrummer in the first slot on a STEREO INSTRUMENT track

Well I've contacted Toontrack and they told me to install the update for EZ Drummer which should include the right format to work in PT.

I did that and still no luck. I have put the EZ Drummer folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins but it still doesn't work.

I am using a stereo instrument track and it just doesn't show up in the Instruments dropdown. Rewire (Reaper) does but no EZ Drummer.

It's really annoying as I really want to be able to use it. Any ideas?

The only thing you have to install in avid/audio/plugins is the file with aaxplugin in the extension and that should happen automatically.

Also, make sure you look into multichannel plugin menu, no from multi-mono... Alternatively you can go to setup/preferences/organize plugin menus by: and select category & manufacturer, that will give the option to look for plugins by the name of the company

Thanks - I have tried the multichannel one but nothing yet. I'll try the plugin by manufacturer to see if that works. Toontrack are a bit puzzled by it too and are looking into it for me. Hopefully they can find a remedy without me needing to pay for EZDrummer 2

Sprout, did you find a solution to Pro Tools not seeing Ezdrummer?

You are replying to a two year old thread... likely back in the dark ages of folks moving from aax32 to aax64. The current version of EZ Drummer runs just fine on Pro Tools 12. You just install it and use it.

Why don't you start a new thread providing the information expected about your system and detail exactly the trouble you see and what troubleshooting you have fried. Start at the "Help us help you" link up the top of this DUC web page.
