Default G5 Dual 2.0GHz & Pro Tools 8 experiences?

If you have a similar setup with a Digi002 would you share your experiences?
Do you have good performance? You know, using XPand 2, Boom, etc plus FXs...

Thank you in advance for sharing your thoughts.

I have a Mac G5 Dual 2.0 GHz
6.5 GB Memory.

I wish I could say all is peaches and pineapples, but the truth is I can't use the lower half of the H/W buffer size sample rates for tracking Even with no active plugins and only a few tracks playing, the lowest setting (64) craps out the CPU. In spite of that, I do like PT8. I can always boot back to a previous OS/PT7.3 to do tracking.

How is your system holding up?

I am about to do the upgrade myself but I'm trawling message boards at the moment to try and see what performance is like.

I have a dual g5 2.0ghz with 2.5gb ram.

I tend to only mix on my machine as I record elsewhere so being able to run songs at low buffers isn't really a big problem for me.

Its quite a major upgrade though. I am still on tiger and 7.4, so I really want to do my research first.

How does it work at higher buffer settings?

NICE!

I went through most troubleshooting tips and played around more with H/W buffer size sample rates and cpu prefs and I might be able to make a 128 rate work.
