Default Info on E8400 compatibility

I'm looking to upgrade to PTLE 8. I'd also like to get a new computer with more RAM capacity, and am considering the HP dx2400 with 3 GHz Core 2 Duo E8400 processor. The dx2400 spec sheet lists the chipset as Intel G33 Express. I don't see this on the Digidesign site as a compatible chipset. Anybody using this or know anything about it?

Default Re: Info on E8400 compatibility

I can tell you for sure that integrated-graphic chipsets (with the "G" designation) have been listed as problematic, although I'm running an 865G with the onboard video disabled, and it works just fine. And if I remember right, the "express" chipsets weren't highly recommended either.
