Simple. Hook up the analog outputs from your Dolby Digital decoder to the analog inputs of the Digi002, then route as you normally would.

I hope you weren't expecting the 002 to decode the Dolby Digital stream.

There are also high end DVD players that have line-level outs post decoder. They work great, but are $$$.

Im trying to find a way to get software to play the dvd movie on the mac and route the sound out to the 002

not so simple it would seem, perhaps impossible at the moment.....

$$$$

thats why I started this thread

Ive spent thousands on the speakers, the 002 and the mac so if I can get some software to play the dvds rather that spending hundreds on a stand alone dvd player deck that would be one less box to have

Correct me if I am wrong everyone, but this is my opinion on how to take care of this issue...

The only way that I can see you getting around it is to buy a standalone dvd player with discrete outputs (for L,C,R,Ls,Rs, and Sub). You would connect them to the inputs on the back, and then take the outputs to your speakers. Make sure the settings on the DVD player are all correct as to output using the discrete tracks...

Set up a session with 6 aux tracks and route the sound into the aux tracks and then out to the respective speakers.

Make sure you adjust the playback engine so you dont have lag from dvd player. You dont want to watch an old japanese horror flick that is out of sync!

BTW, you can get a DVD player with discrete outputs for around 130 at Circuit City... not too bad...

so the only way to get around NOT buying a stand alone dvd player is to go and buy one???

I dont want to buy one, I want to play the dvd in my computer drive and get the software player to SIMPLY route the 5.1 audio off the dvd out thru the digi002 and into the surrounds

Hey buddy, I am only trying to help...no reason to bite my head off...

From what I know, WinDVD or any internal DVD player software would not be able to decode the stream to play through your DIGI002. Realize that the drivers that the 002 use to take place of your sound card is only stereo, not surround...
