Default PT8 with just keyboard and mouse

I have been using Digi 003/PTLE8/windows xp , desktop, for sometime...I want to also set up PTLE 8 on my laptop(windows vista),which does not have a firewire 1394 plug insert. ..which i really dont need my digi 003 mix unit for anyway. The keyboard and mouse entry is all i need.....Problem is after a fresh download and install of just the PTLE 8 softwarefrom the "mydigi" On first fire up.. i get the "cant locate hardware" dialog. I hit OK it does nothing,,i hit cancel it closes me out......is their a way too bypass this....so i can use PTLE8 without hardware and just use the keyboard and mouse.

That is what the MBox 2 Micro is made for: http://digidesign.com/index.cfm?lang...20&itemid=5343

You cannot run Pro Tools LE without hardware redchair. It's the ultimate protection dongle. As Lincoln points out, the Micro is the smallest option.

Does Pro Tools LE M Powered work with the 003? If so, that would also work. But Pro Tools M Powered also requires an iLok. And the iLok has no earphone jack.

PT M-Powered is only for use with M-Audio devices. PT LE is only compatible with Digi hardware.

When I bought my 003+ I also bought an MBox 2 Micro and an OWC OTG drive. It is the best deal in town. You can take your editing, sound design or MIDI composing anywhere on any computer. And if you are just doing MIDI composing you don't need an external drive.
