Default Can't zoom in to sample level! What happened?

Yeah, session stops zooming before I get to sample level for pencil editing. I'm going in and in and it just stops. What have I accidentally toggled?

This is PT8, cs2. OSX Leopard, Intel. On two different machines. Tried Save Copy In option with both WAV and AIFF. No luck. Though strangely, on the PowerPC machine here, it WILL zoom in. Go figure. Oh, and all machines running Leopard 10.5.6.

Do you possibly have automation data that's out toward the end of the timeline? Usually we've only seen this occur when that's the case. Deleting the automation restores the zoom function.

I just tried creating a fresh session and recording a few seconds of audio onto ONE track. Then tried zooming in. Same problem.

Mind you, I DID look for any offending automation, but none found.

THEN, I tried opening an older session, which DID let me zoom in. Then I tried importing tracks from the sessions that WOULDN'T let me zoom in, and I still could. Still trying to find the culprit here!

This is a bug that's been around for a while. Go to Preferences/Display and lower the Edit Window Default length to 8 hours or shorter. That should solve your problem.
