You can keep it simple for starters, let us load just one sample. It would make sense to have "mix" parameter in there to blend original sound to sample and separate EQ's for the original and the sample within the plugin if you create the "mix" feature.

It will be complicated to have reliable triggering from an open mic, so you probably need to build some HPF & LPF filters into the trigger chain, so that user can fine tune the triggering depending on the drum type in use, or you can create presets for different sized drums.

I would personally most likely use acoustic triggers on drums and send their outputs to this plugin to make them trigger samples as fool proof as possible, but if you could come up with reliable triggering from the mic, that would be super.

You could "teach" it with a few original hits while sound checking.

I'm currently wishing I had something like the Waves Maxx Volume or MV2. Upward and downward compression in the same plug-in.

Are these processes (up/dw comp) used much for live?

I would like to see a 6 band compressor (dynamic EQ) that was based on a warmer comp like Fairchild, maybe using your STA or GTS compressors algorithm. Another would be a vintage reverb based om EMT or the AMS (why not both). They would have to be very accurate to the originals as these are favorites among us older guys who have used or still own them. I would love to see a Bricasti M7 plugin, maybe talk to those guys and do a co-op deal. They are a very small company and cool people that are easy to talk to. Another would be a 6-8 band main bus limiter with a maximizing (Waves L2 style pumper) built into it. This plugin would need to be ultra transparent.

thanks for listening to the forum.

Pretty sure it's just TDM with a custom installer format. Sheldon could probably shed more light on it.

Couple things to consider, manufacturing is done (as in no longer being made) on the Profile/D-show/mixrack systems. Even with that being said, it's a big market. I believe globally it is the most sold large format digital console model and will be heavily toured for another 5 years.

email me directly, i'll get you the developers kit for both AAX-DSP and TDM.

Also I got bored one day last month and made a real-time drum replacement with AAX-DSP, it works pretty damn well...
