Default PT11 language

Will v11 have multi-language support with the option, to choose the language? In v10 it's dependent on the system language, but in my case i prefer PT in english on my MacBook with german language, which doesn't work in PT10.

I'm interested about this as well, so let me throw this question at Avid... :)

Why not erase the other languages?
I prefer english too - so here is what you could do:
right (or control) click on the ProTools program icon - select show content (oder "Packetinhalt anzeigen" in the german version) - in the folder Contents you´ll find the folder Resources...there you can delete all xx.lproj [where xx stands for the language] - except en.lproj - yes, you guessed it: en. stands for english

But - be careful! Most of the files in Resources are needed!

Works here on several systems without any problem [maybe you should not delete the language-folders, just copy them to another / new folder... - just to be save...]

I tried that in the beginning, but that still didn't solve it.
I ended up using a script, which works just fine.

Yes i tried that once, but that doesn't work 100%, f.e. The Beat Detective window and the plugin windows will still have german parts (i'm quite sure i didn't forget to delete a file).
And i would need to delete all of them after every update.

True - but to get sometimes a german word is not as bad as double-clicking a session and start PT in german... i just hate that
And yes - we should be able to select the language i think

It is if you're using macros like with Quickeys for example. And I do that a lot. Was a nightmare when PT10 first came out.

Another vote for PT to english without using that start-up script.
Also every updater deletes the starup script and/or removes it from the dock and replaces it by the original PT icon.
Little but quite regular annoyance.

Frank.

Due to the complete rewrite of Pro Tools 11 as a 64-bit application, it is expected that there will be some errors initially.

Therefore, PT 11 will allow you to curse at it in any language you choose.

However, to implement this functionality, an optional language pack will be required.

The optional language packs can only be purchased with an HDX 1 system for $17,000.00 USD...

Just rockin'...what more is there?
