New Pro Tools User - Simple Questions

Hi,

I'm new to Pro Tools. No problems so far except these questions:

When I click on HELP everything is grayed out except "About Pro Tools". I ran the documentation installer, and all docs show up in my start menu, but not in Pro Tools.

Also, it takes Pro Tools a long time to start up. Seems like it's scanning plugins at every start up. Is there a way to turn this off?

For the first question regarding the documentation - if you're on 7.3, this feature is broken. You will have to access the documenation through the Start menu. If you're not on 7.3, let us know.

As for the 2nd question regarding plug-ins - no, there's no way to turn this off, other than to uninstall plug-ins. The boot time should get shorter after the first launch, but if you have a lot of plug-ins it can still take awhile.

It's like that even on fast computers. Macs and PC's.
