sorry to say that but arturia is one of those companies out there not able to produce solid stable software. this is true for a lot of their stuff and goes for RTAS as for VST or AU. check out the different internet forums ! it is sad because their stuff sounds very good. even their own hardware synth origin is full of bugs. I bought brass2 which is simply not usable... the new wurlitzer piano has a bug in RTAS which makes it unable to use the sustain pedal. unbelievable and rediculous ! ...Gforce is doing solid stuff... a good jupiter emulation alternative out there ? can anybody help ?

Yeh I've been aware their software is quite buggy, but yes the sound of their synth are great. the Oberheim SEM is amazing. I was trying the Wurly yesterday and it seemed to have sustain on it and i was looking for a release or envelope etc, so is that part of the problem you speak of? Chris

I agree that their stuff sounds great so I went about trying to find a software host that it might work in. The only software that is is even usable in is Reaper, which I ReWire back into Pro Tools. In Reaper though, it won't remember it's midi channel setting's. You have to reset them every time that you re-open the session. Jupiter V is totally unusable in both VE Pro and Plogue Bidule. I, as is noted in the other thread, contacted Arturia tech support about this problem and got a still ongoing runaround. There were month long gaps between replies from them and only after a three months did they even admit that there might be a problem. My last message from them stated that they had passed the info on to their engineering department. I am not holding my breath expecting anything to actually be done about it. Actually, I'm a bit surprised that they don't get more grief from more user's about the utter bugginess of their software. That, unfortunately, is the only thing that would maybe take all of this even remotely seriously. Oh, and I have the entire V collection as well. Each plugin seems to have it's own particular issue. Pretty sad actually. |
