Default Ozone Vs. Waves Diamond Bundle

Got 2 questions... For plugins in general what should i get.. Is waves diamond bundle enough or should i get more

For mastering what should i get.. ozone isotope 3 or waves diamond bundle which has L3 Ultramax and multimaximizer

Also recently i got that dyanimics III and i have had problems when i use its eq 3 and compressor.. it seems to be hogging my powerbook g4 saying "too much cpu power use due to rtas plugins check playback engine or cut down some plugins"

I never had that problem but now since i use those plugins

Waves is a great product...BUT...they have a pricey WUP policy. I'd avoid them until they change this. If you look around on the DUC, you'll find plenty of people pissed off at Waves. There are lots of other great companies, like McDSP, Ozone, Wave Art, ...

Ozone 3 is really nice and its wayyy less than any Waves product.

Get their demo and u'll c. I have Waves Platinum and have used Ozzone... its def. somethin 2 get. for home/self mastering, u'll b surprised of ur finally mixes. That, of course, u have a good final mix.

but demo their product.

its only like $150 or so.

I'm not trying to flame, but I have to know: does it take more of a conscious effort to remember to type "u" instead of "you"?

I have some Ozone and the Waves plugins. Both are pretty decent, but you should really think about what you want to do with them. Anyone here can tell you "I like this one", but they may like it for doing things that you either won't like as much, won't use often, or it just doesn't fit your sound. I forget if there's any way to use a demo of the plugins, but look into that.

As for other options, if anyone here by chance has a song uploaded, would you kindly post a link to a song that used EITHER Ozone OR Waves for this person? Kind of give him/her an audio example of what COULD be possible to mix in their sound, you know? I'd post, but since I only just got both kinds of plugins recently, I don't have anything worth posting with said plugins yet...

Here's a cryptic response:
1) Waves is better in general
2) However, it could take longer to get the right sound from Waves
3) L2 + L3 have ruined many a good mix
4) Ozone is great, especially when you don't use the loudness maximizer and don't overdo the compression
5) If all you are after is master compression/limiting, consider Digidesign Maxim (not multi-band, but a great limiter, compressor, and dither)
6) If you have the skills and the money and patience, go with Waves
7) Ozone is so cheap, that it may be good to have in the bag anyways (I have been very impressed with it in general)
8) Ozone has a badass GUI

I like Ozone 3 a lot. I don't like the UI much - a little too 'star trek' for me, but it packs a LOT of control into a small screen.
